An opportunity to spend two days developing your hedge-laying skills with expert countryside craftsman Peter Drake, at Cors Caron National Nature Reserve in Tregaron.

You will learn the benefits and techniques of hedgerow management including singling and high pruning as well as laying. The principle aim is to give you as much ‘hands-on’ experience as possible. The course will involve the first laying of a new hedge, planted 10 years ago, consisting mostly of hazel.

Priority places will be allocated to participants who can attend both days.

All tools and equipment will be provided as well as plenty of hot drinks and biscuits. Please come dressed for cold and wet weather and bring a packed lunch.

Tutor: Peter Drake

Fee:

Unwaged/low-waged participants: £60 for 2 days or if places permit £35 per day

Waged participants: £75 for 2 days or if places permit £40 per day

If you require accommodation during this course you can stay in the Self-Catering Eco Lodge at Denmark Farm from £25 per night or in our shared dormitory for £18 for night.
