Principles of Habitat Restoration and Recreation (level 2)
Suitable for conservation workers and experienced amateurs interested in developing their knowledge of conservation planning & habitat management, starting with a range of common examples. Methods of restoring and creating grassland, woodland and some linear habitats will be described, with the chance to research one topic in depth as a home assignment. You will gain an insight into the reasons why such techniques are necessary in the context of current land use and be introduced to a range of situations where habitat recreation has been carried out, with guidance on evaluation techniques. A further home assignment after the course will enable you to create a conservation plan of your choice with on-line tutor support.
