Professional outdoor instructors and leaders are required to have a first aid qualification that meets the requirements of their National Governing Bodies – for any other outdoor enthusiast it is simply good sense! The UK has some of nature’s best playgrounds and despite its relatively small size, can be very remote, especially when you have a broken leg. Keeping calm, aiding the rescue team and being able to provide fast effective treatment is a skill that cannot be overlooked when professional help can often be delayed by many hours.
Outdoor life demands that you learn to look after your tent and other gear – so why should you overlook your ability to care for yourself and people around you? This outdoor based course is extremely practical and offer some challenges and resources not seen paralleled anywhere else.
Please bring full waterproofs, warm gear, headtorch and outdoor shoes, and basic note-taking equipment. We provide handbooks. This course is highly practical in nature and time will be spent out of doors. We use simulation exercises so please bring a set of old/cheap clothes which you do not mind having stained or cut and damaged.
We have a range of accommodation available at Denmark Farm from Eco Camping to shared dormitories to our lovely Eco Lodge.
Please get in touch if you have any questions or you’d like to book to stay
