Willow Weaving – Oval Basket (2 days)
On this two day course you will weave a beautiful and practical oval shaped basket, using a variety of naturally coloured willows. Starting from the same foundation, you can choose to make your basket into a shopper, laundry basket or log basket.

On this course we will be exploring oval work within the ‘stake and strand’ tradition of basket making. We will all start with a British ‘under foot’ oval base, which you can then choose to make into an oval shopper, oval laundry basket or oval log basket.
Previous basketry experience, or a strong practical bent, is an advantage.
All the tools you need will be provided.
Bring a packet lunch, and wear warm old clothing.
Fee: £130 (includes tuition and hot drinks throughout the day)
There is an additional fee of £25 for the materials for your basket. Please bring this in cash and pay to the tutor on the day.
Tutor: Jane Welsh
Jane is an experienced basket maker and attentive teacher. Her knowledge and love of willow is inspiring. She will also have a range of her own baskets for sale at extremely reasonable prices.
