Our annual Open Day is always a fantastic opportunity to get a taste of what goes on at Denmark Farm and get involved with future activities.
Everyone is welcome to join us for our 2016 Mid Summer Open Day and bring along all your friends and family as well.
Here what we’ve got planned so far:
- A Veg Patch from Scratch – Malcolm Berry and his team of enthusiastic gardening volunteers will be on site to answer your veg growing questions
- Willow Weaving Demonstration – Craig Dawe will be using some of the Willow harvested from Denmark Farm WET System and an opportunity to have a go at a simple Willow Weaving project
- Guided Walks: Water Sustainability at Denmark Farm, Meadows in Flower, The Denmark Farm Story plus tours of the Eco Lodge self-catering accommodation
- Stalls: Plants, Crafts and Green woodcrafts
- Tool sharpening with Peter Drake, bring along a blunt tool and Peter will help you give it a new lease of life (NB. excludes saws)
- Children: Woodland Classroom will be offering a drop in Forest School by the Roundhouse
- Children & adults: Storytelling in the Yurt with Milly Jackdaw
- Food: Cath’s Vegan Kitchen, plus fresh pizza from our Cob oven, plus tea and locally made cakes.
We are very grateful to The Volunteering In Wales Fund for supporting this event.
There is no charge to attend this Open Day however donations are gratefully received. All proceeds go towards the upkeep of the 40 acre nature reserve at Denmark Farm and the environmental work of the charity The Shared Earth Trust.
