2020 VISION at Denmark Farm

This week, Denmark Farm hosted a visit from a camera crew from the  “2020vision” project. This is an exciting new multimedia project, visiting 20 locations over 20 months using 20 professional cameramen and photographers (including well-known names such as Chris Packham and Charlie Hamilton James from BBC’s Springwatch).

2020vision describe themselves as  “PR agents for bogs, bees and barn owls”!. To read more about this fascinating project go to www.2020v.org

‘Our’ team from 2020vision, William Bolton and Ross Hoddinott,  were on site each day from 4.30 am, to capture a side of Denmark Farm that the rest of us very rarely see. Having seen a few of  the wonderful shots they took at that time of day, we would thoroughly recommend an early morning visit here (or an overnight stay on the campsite!). The 2020vision team also includes local girl Jazz Dyson, who is working alongside the professional photographers as a member of the youth team.

The project aims to capture not just wildlife, but people’s interaction with nature. The team filmed a whole range of activities at Denmark Farm, including the participants on  our woodcarving course and grass/sedge ID course, and volunteers monitoring the dormouse boxes.  The videographer also went along to one of our ‘Wildlife Where You Live’ community guided walks in Llanilar.

We are thrilled to be part of the 2020vision project, and look forward with great anticipation to the outcome.
