Master two traditional techniques of hand broom: the Turkey Wing and the Hawk Tail.
Using sustainable Tapioca fibre and cotton cord, you’ll learn how to bind and tension your brushes, and make something you’ll love to use.

Structure of the day

  • welcome and intro
  • meeting the materials
  • demo of turkey wing
  • create your own with support on hand
  • 1 hour break for stepping away from the workshop to replenish your creativity and enjoy a stroll around the nature reserve.
  • demo of the hawk tail brush
  • create your own with support on hand

Everyone will create at least two brushes, bound with cotton.

Please note that there is a materials fee of £6 to be paid to tutor on the day, to cover the cost of materials for two brushes.  For speedy crafters, extra brushes can be made for an additional £3 per brush.
