This workshop will provide you with an opportunity to make your own nine-patch sampler quilt.

Patch work quilting is about storytelling, textiles carry memories of people, times and places. They keep us warm, decorate our homes and are used to celebrate milestones in our lives and remember those who are no longer with us. Group quilts are used for protest or to tell community group stories and are passed down through generations.

Using beautiful 100% cotton Batik fabric from Bali you can choose from a wide choice of designs which will allow you to make your own decisions about colour, design and pattern.
You will learn each stage of the quilting process to enable you to continue to make independently in the future.
There is a choice for making by hand or sharing sewing machines.
All tools such as rotary cutters, rulers, pins etc will be provided.

Course cost: £130 plus £15 for the materials to be used in your quilt, to be paid in cash to the tutor on the day.

Your tutor for this course is: Jane Reid

Jane is a fine arts graduate who has been facilitating for more than twenty years and producing her own textiles for sale. Having recently moved from London to Ceredigion, she will be offering her workshops locally to schools and community groups. Originally training as a ceramicist, Jane transitioned into working with textiles over the last decade. She is influenced heavily by the natural environment, which is allowing her to continue to experiment in her personal work.
