BioBlitz ’26 – Discover Nature Together
Join us for BioBlitz ’26, a fun, welcoming day exploring the incredible wildlife at Denmark Farm Conservation Centre.
Help us record as many different species as possible — from butterflies and wildflowers to frogs and birds.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned nature enthusiast, everyone is welcome to take part.

A BioBlitz is a hands-on nature event where people come together to find, identify, and record as many different species as possible within a set time period.
Guided by experts, you’ll learn how to record your findings on the LERC Wales App and will be helping us to build a valuable snapshot of local biodiversity while learning more about the natural world around you, and enjoying some time outdoors.
8-10am – Bird walk with Carys
9-10am – Moths with Shane
10.30am – Pond dipping with Chris
11-12am – Bird walk with Carys
11-12 am – Butterflies with Paul
11.30 – Dormice with Diana
12-1 pm – Pizza lunch (registration required)
1-2pm – Meadow plants with Chris
1.30-3pm – Woodland Invertebrates with Shane
2-3 pm – Butterflies with Paul
3-4pm – Woodland plants & trees with Chris
9-10pm – Bat walk at sunset
Everyone can join in!
We will be welcoming families, novice wildlife enthusiasts, wildlife experts and local community members.
No experience necessary.
Come and enjoy guided or self-led wildlife spotting, learn to identify species, relax in nature, and contribute to real conservation work that makes a difference.
As a thank you for your efforts, we are providing refreshments, and vegetarian pizzas cooked fresh in our cob oven. You’ll need to register for the event to get a slice!
