Come and learn the art and practise of coppicing hazel. We will talk about the history of uses of coppiced hazel, why we still do it and the benefits to wildlife and the woodland itself. We will then coppice an area of hazel on site using hand saws and then process the wood into products or wildlife habitat piles.

You will learn what you can do with coppiced hazel rods and hopefully take some home with you. We also include a walk around to discuss the overall woodland management of Denmark Farm and learn some basic tree identification.

We are pleased to offer FREE PLACES on these workshops to residents of the Lampeter, Llanwnnen and Llanfihangel Ystrad parishes, kindly funded by Grannell Community Energy.

You can check your parish here: www.parish.uk/find-parish-council/

The free places are limited, so if you are able to pay for your place, or if you don’t live in one of these parishes, paid places are available.
