Practical courses for everyday sustainability

We are pleased to offer FREE PLACES on these workshops to residents of the Lampeter, Llanwnnen and Llanfihangel Ystrad parishes, kindly funded by Grannell Community Energy.

Our new Green Skills workshop series invites local people to discover simple, practical ways to live more sustainably—at home, in the garden, and in the community.

Each workshop is friendly, practical and rooted in real life in Ceredigion.

Workshops are friendly, welcoming and suitable for complete beginners.

Green Skills: Practical Courses for Everyday Sustainability is a programme of ten hands‑on workshops designed to help you:

  • Save money by growing your own food sustainably, even in small spaces
  • Support wildlife in your garden or community
  • Reduce waste by making, repairing and preserving
  • Build confidence in practical outdoor skills

A hands‑on introduction to preserving fruit and vegetables using a variety of techniques.

Tool Sharpening

Learn how to sharpen, hone and care for your tools and save money on replacements.

Learn to identify local butterflies, understand their habitats, and design a butterfly‑friendly garden.

Creating a Fruit & Veg Garden

Learn where to site beds, what to grow, how to use greenhouses, and how to plan your growing year.

Build a Bird Box
Thurs 3 Sept, 9:30am–12:30pm
Learn about common garden birds, their nesting needs, and build your own robin bird box to take home.

Build a Bug Hotel
Thurs 3 Sept, 1:30pm–4pm
Learn the value of insects in healthy ecosystems and build a small bug box to support wildlife in your garden.
