Create your own beautiful and functional willow-backed log chair. Transforming a log round into a unique outdoor chair or an eye‑catching plant holder. During this hands‑on workshop, you’ll learn a variety of traditional willow weaving techniques using our own Denmark Farm willow, harvested in March this year.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some weaving or basketry experience. You’ll be guided step‑by‑step through the process, with plenty of opportunity to explore different weaves and personalise your design.
What to bring: Please bring your own log in any size you prefer. If you choose a smaller log to make a plant holder, you may even have time to make two willow backs.
If you don’t have a log round — or if you have spare logs you’re happy to share — please get in touch. We’ll do our best to match people up so everyone has what they need.
Join us for a relaxed, creative day working with natural materials and leave with a handcrafted piece ready for your garden or outdoor space.
Please note, there is a an additional materials fee of £5 per person for willow to be paid in cash on the day.
This project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, administrated and supported by the Cynnal y Cardi Team for Ceredigion County Council.
