Why I Became a Lifetime Member.
“Denmark Farm is a very special place both in terms of my personal experiences and as showing what is possible in terms of biodiversity. Because of this, I want the place to have a long-term future – still being around for everyone to enjoy in years to come. However, a site like this requires care and that, even with the best volunteers in the world, costs money. With this in mind, I decided that I could help – by becoming a Life Member of the Shared Earth Trust I was able to help secure that long-term vision.”
“Small organisations can really struggle to secure funding and this can be demoralising for the staff. Therefore, my second reason for becoming a Life Member was to demonstrate my support and commitment to the people who work hard every day to keep the nature reserve going. I well remember the reactions when I told them that I was going to do this and the positive feelings that it generated.”
“Of course, I get various member benefits, but they were not my motivation; the important thing to me was that Denmark Farm would still be supporting wild plants and animals far into the future.”
