Our ‘Wildlife Where you Live’ communities have had an active summer of wildlife surveys and nature walks, discovering bats in Aberarth, butterflies in Llanafan, and a bevy of bugs in Llangybi with ‘Phil the Bugman’!
Llangybi bug hunt
The programme continues its momentum into autumn, with a fungal foray in Aberarth (and the possibility of finding wax caps) and bird walks in 3 WWYL communities.
Here are the dates of these upcoming WWYL events for your diary:
Fungal foray 6th October 2 pm, Aberarth (meet at the village hall)
Bird walk 21st October 2pm, Aberarth (meet at the village hall)
Bird walk 28th October, 11 am Cellan (meet at the Millenium hall)
Bird walk 28th october 2 pm, Llangybi (meet in the school layby)
(all welcome – you don’t need to live in the community itself)
Autumn also sees the start of the WWYL wildlife improvement plans in Aberarth, Borth, Llangybi and Cellan plus a visit to two community gardens in Pembrokeshire for some inspiration and ideas. We will also start to develop our demonstration community garden here at Denmark Farm, and are always on the look out for volunteers to assist with this exciting new project.
Our next 2 volunteer dates are 13th October and 24th November, from 10 am to 4 pm, but other volunteer opportunities will be available, so please get in touch for more information: email@example.com or 01570 493358.
