Aren’t volunteers brilliant? We certainly think so!
Volunteers are what makes Denmark Farm what it is, and we couldn’t do it without them.

Our volunteers contribute a wide range of skills and knowledge. Our Trustees look after everything from finance to conservation management, then there are other volunteers involved in everything from IT support, to looking after membership, and checking that the bird feeder is topped-up.

Volunteers also carry out bird surveys and other wildlife monitoring, and grow organic veg in our kitchen garden.

We were recently fortunate to host a conservation group from the VINE project. With their combined years of experience in conservation, and skills ranging from brush-cutting and chainsaws to knowledge of conservation grazing , they threw themselves into the work for the weekend and made a huge impact. We are very grateful to them for choosing Denmark Farm for their annual work party.
There is a lot which goes on behind the scenes so that we can prioritise and organise our volunteer tasks to ensure that our volunteers are making the best use of their time and skills. We are currently carrying out a programme of Fundraising to enable us to provide more volunteering opportunities, and to look after our nature reserve and wildlife with their help. Funding will also enable us to organise community wildlife events from our new Wildlife Discovery room.
You can help us achieve this, by voting for us in the Aviva Community Fund. We need as many votes as possible to be in with a chance to receive up to £10,000 to help us care for nature. It only takes a minute or two, but will help maintain our site and support our volunteers for many months!

Thank you for all your support!
