LINDA Is LEAVING DENMARK FARM!
“I can’t believe how quickly the last 3 years have passed by!!
I started working here at Denmark Farm back in August 2018 on a one year project called Get Active for Wildlife and then was lucky enough to have more funding for another two years with the project Cadw Natur Mewn Cof. This has been funded by the Landfill Disposals Tax Communities Scheme.
I’ve absolutely loved working here! It was always a dream of mine to manage a nature reserve and now I’ve done that. I hope that I’ve helped make a difference for our amazing wildlife. But I couldn’t have done it without all the lovely people I’ve met along the way, Mara, Marc, all the Trustees and of course all the lovely volunteers.
I feel that I just can’t walk away from Denmark Farm, it’s too special to me. So, I will be joining the conservation volunteer group with all the others! I will certainly miss coming here and working in such a beautiful and peaceful place.
Conservation has always been really important to me, for those of you who don’t know, I went to agricultural college on a fantastic 3 year’s course back in 1989. Seems a long time ago now!! It was a real life-changing time for me and one of the best things I’ve ever done. Wildlife has always been my passion and I always wanted to manage a nature reserve, I feel so grateful and privileged to have spent my last working years doing just that.
So now it’s time for another change! Time to improve my health, manage our small ‘nature reserve’ at home, learn to play the violin, travel (once we can again), spend more time with family, friends and my husband Cliff. I’ve started sea swimming this year and hoping to keep that going all year around too! And of course, volunteering at Denmark Farm!”
Linda will be dearly missed by her colleagues – Mara and Marc, the Trustees and most of all by the volunteer team whom she has supported so well during the past three years. We wish her all the best for a happy and healthy ‘retirement’. Although this marks the end of the Cadw Natur Mew Cof project we will be picking up where we left off from in January with a new one year project. Watch this space … more details to follow soon.
