The course leads to an essential skills qualification at either Level 1 or level 2
and consists of 6 x 5 hour workshops and 1 introductory session.
The dates are as follows:
Wednesday 19th Feb. 6.00pm – 8.00pm: Course introduction and enrollment
Saturday 22nd February 10.00am – 3.00pm
Sunday 23rd February 10.00am – 3.00pm
Saturday 15th March 10.00am – 3.00pm
Sunday 16th March 10.00am – 3.00pm
Saturday 29th March 10.00am – 3.00pm
Saturday 19th April 10.00am – 3.00pm
The course will include:
●Tree identification
●Coppicing
●Snedding
●Ideas on projects using coppiced wood
●Creating wildlife habitat piles
●Using hand tools safely in the woodland.
This course is free for employed or self-employed people living in Ceredigion
or Carmarthenshire.
As well as experiencing first hand, these practical woodland skills, you will also
produce a small ‘Woodland Skills’ portfolio,consisting of photographs, articles
and your own notes on the areas that interest you the most.
Part of each session will be spent outdoors, so please wear suitable outdoor clothing
and preferably, steel toe cap or sturdy boots.
