Weave a Rush Hat
Make your own Rush Hat, ready for the Spring and Summer sunshine!
We will use checker weave and pairing to make these beautiful and aromatic hats from rush, which has been cut on the Somerset Levels.
Jane will gently guide you through the process and you will be able to weave your own beautiful and bespoke rush hat to wear home.
Rush is a wonderful material to weave with as it is softer and much gentler on the hands than willow.
All materials and tools will be provided, however there is an additional fee of £15 for the materials used to create your hat. Please bring this in cash and pay to the tutor on the day.
Fee: £65 (includes tuition and hot drinks throughout the day)

Jane is an experienced basket maker and attentive teacher. Her knowledge and love of willow and rush is inspiring. She will also have a range of her own baskets for sale at extremely reasonable prices.
