Upcycle Wool Blankets

Upcycle Wool Blankets

Discover how to upcycle old wool blankets and turn them into beautiful pincushions, badges, trivets, cushion pads and rugs.

Explore the rug making techniques of standing wool, braiding, hooking and prodding whilst making an array of items both useful and decorative.

This is the ultimate upcycling craft; to give old worn wool blankets and rags a completely new lease of life.

We will start the day making a standing wool pincushion from beautifully dyed wool. Then there will be demonstrations of some different techniques and you can choose which other items to make and techniques to explore.  There will be lots of tips on cutting and dyeing the blankets.

All tools and materials will be provided and more will be for sale on the day for you to continue some creative upcycling at home.
