If you love the smell of fresh bread in your house, you are interested in baking, and would like to learn about the amazing benefits of using wild yeast to make a delicious loaf of Sourdough bread, then this course is for you.
This course will introduce you to the art of bread making without added yeasts. You will learn about the benefits of Sourdough Bread and how to make your own sourdough starter to take home, by only mixing water and grains/ flour.
During the course you will also be able to work with a sourdough starter. Learn all the steps to turn a starter into a delicious loaf of traditional German Sourdough Bread, which will be baked together and sampled at the end of the course.
Our breads will be vegan and made out of a mix of rye and wheat flour. Please get in contact beforehand if you have any special dietary requirements.
Your tutor, Peggy, runs the local business Eldertree, specialising in fermented and whole foods. Peggy is currently also in the process of including an artisan wild yeast bakery into her business.

Please specify at the time of booking whether you would like an optional vegetarian lunch plus dessert for an additional £5, which will show you a variety of different ways to use sourdough, including recipes (Please state special dietary requirements at the time of booking).
Please bring a big jar to take your sourdough starter home in, a 1Ib/450p bread tin for cooking, plus an apron. All bread ingredients will be provided.
