Weave a Rustic Wall-hanging
Create a beautiful and unique Rustic Wall-hanging whilst learning some wonderful techniques for up-cycling textiles.
During this workshop you will weave a Rustic Wall-hanging, using locally found oak sticks and a variety of wool. We will use some basic weaving techniques to make an attractive wall-hanging. Using a locker needle tool we will weave an array of local fleece, yarns, fabrics and merino tops exploring colours and textures.There will be information about dyeing techniques and a fabulous choice of materials to use.
It should be possible to make a finished piece at the workshop. You will also learn the skills to make a bigger piece and other textiles projects later on at home.
All tools and materials will be provided along with lots of tips and exciting examples of Sue’s previous work.
Tools and materials will also be for sale for those who would like to continue exploring this technique at home.
Workshop Tutor: Sue Clow is a local textile artist with 30 years experience in textile recycling and designing.
Sue has experimented with many different textile techniques and sells tools and kits as well as her handmade crafts…
This workshop is suitable for all abilities, including beginners.
Places are limited to ten participants per event and must be booked in advance.
