Learn that raw savoury food can not only be healthy but totally delicious with this creative short workshop with Peggy Beer.
We will have some fun making some fabulous raw dishes and then share the joy of eating them together!
Foods are classified as raw if the heating temperature does not exceed 45C, as it does not destroy the enzymes in the food.
You will learn how to prepare plant based raw savoury food using fresh ingredients, local and organic where possible, some will be slightly warmed up.
The Workshop:
Whether you are interested in a completely raw diet, want to add a few raw dishes to your meal repertoire or you just want to get to know a different way to be creative with food, this workshop teaches you how to prepare 4 plant based raw savoury dishes and will leave you with lots of inspiration and extra recipes to carry on your raw food journey at home.
On this course you will:
• learn about the benefits of Raw Food
• gain an understanding of the 5 pillars of Raw Food preparation: Juicing, Blending, Spiralizing, Sprouting, Fermenting.
• Learn the processes for making
-Raw Soups
-nut and seed cheeses for savoury dishes, such as quiche, pates and starters. We will be using cashews and sunflower seeds.
-marinated veg which can be used in soups, vegetable side dishes, starters, Raw Stir fries etc
-Raw seed ‘bread’, crackers and wraps
• make 4 savoury dishes that are adaptable and can be changed according to your own taste if required:
Marinated Mushroom soup – a creamy soup with marinated mushrooms and other veggies.
Savoury Onion ‘Bread’ – a raw gluten free bread recipe that makes all other breads envious and reminds me of rye bread with its flavour. Delicious with soups or as a sandwich. This recipe can also be used to make your own wraps and crackers.
Tomato and Spinach Quiche – whilst this recipe does not taste exactly like its cooked counterpart it still surprises with its fresh taste and its lovely creamy cashew cheese filling.
Spiralized Thai Sweet potato with Sesame seeds – side dish

Health Benefits
A raw food diet is low in calories and high in fibre helping with weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight. Raw foodists have reported that eating a high proportion of raw food makes them feel healthier and boosts energy levels. The high levels of fresh nutrients that are preserved allow the body to prevent and fight diseases, improve digestion and make for a healthy looking skin.
