- Would you like to find out more about The OPAL Tree Health Survey?
- This is an introduction for people who want to find out more but have no or very little previous knowledge.
- There is no charge for the training but a donation towards the conservation work of the Shared Earth Trust would be appreciated.
During this training session we will look at the identification of tree species and survey trees for signs of common Tree diseases as part of the OPAL Tree Health Survey.
You will need to bring outdoor clothing, and shoes suitable for walking on rough ground, but we will not be walking far. All the equipment to do the survey is provided.

The Open Air Laboratories (OPAL) network is a UK-wide citizen science initiative that allows you to get hands-on with nature, whatever your age, background or level of ability. The surveys explore the health of our soils and trees, the quality of our air and water, the distribution of invertebrates, the importance of hedges, and the ways in which we affect our climate.
You may also be interested in the OPAL Earthworm and Soil Survey also on the 17th September.
