In this workshop, you will learn how to make nuno felt, a method by which wool is combined with any open weave fabric to make a unique, drapeable and warm fabric suitable for clothing, curtaining and any other situation where drape is needed. Bearing in mind that not everyone has access to a large workspace, we will make a set of nuno patches using different approaches and then join them together to make a scarf, cowl neck or cushion cover. By doing this you will learn an essential trick – how to join seams without sewing!
Another great aspect of this workshop is that we will be up-cycling fabric, changing something old or unwanted into something new and exciting! Any fabric with an open weave is suitable for nuno felting, so if you have some old chiffon, organza or muslin scarves or fabric you would like to up cycle bring it along, but this is not a requirement for joining in the workshop.
Suitable for adult learners who have either attended other felt-making courses with Lorraine or have a fair amount of experience in wet felting.
