Join us for this very popular workshop – creating a needle felt March Hare, using native sheep fleece and barbed needles.
We will be needle felting a sculpture using the core wool method and barbed needles. The barbed needles are used to fuse the fibres and sculpt the wool into your preferred creature.
You can choose from a snow-hare, or a brown hare, or perhaps try a more abstract type and use hand-dyed wool instead?
You will be using, and finding out about, native hand-dyed wool, and the different methods of felt-making.
At the end of the session you will have a finished handmade felt hare to take away with you.
Please do bring photographs or books to work from too.
A wide range of materials are available for you to choose from, and cost £10 per person.
There will also be the opportunity to purchase a kit to go home and continue to needle felt!
Tutor: Emma from FfolkyFfelt
Fee: £40 per person
NB. There is an additional £10 per workshop for materials, to be paid in cash on the day.
Places are limited to ten participants per event and must be booked in advance.
Review = “I’ve never tried any kind of felting before – a complete beginner in every sense of the word. The workshop was brilliant, so much choice of materials in incredible colours, the day was extremely well thought out, accommodating beginners like me, yet providing a setting where more experienced felters could also get the most from it. Emma managed to find that perfect balance of offering tuition, guidance and help, or letting us guide ourselves when we needed/wanted to. It was a very relaxing and creative day, fab venue and a nice group of people; allowing everyone to have some 1-1 time with Emma as well. I loved the workshop and was so proud of what I managed to achieve with my day, definitely worth it and would highly recommend Emma as a teacher and artist.” Martine Finlay Feb 2017
