To mark the weekend of the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch 2022 we are celebrating with this Garden Birdy special needle-felting workshop.
During this workshop you will be using, and finding out about, native hand-dyed wool, and the different methods of felt-making.
We will be needle-felting a bird sculpture using the core wool method, and create one of the more popular garden visitors – such as a blue tit, robin, or wren.
The barbed needles are used to fuse the fibres and sculpt the wool into your favourite feathered friend!
You can bring in photos to work from, or browse through the books and resources available.
This workshop is suitable for all abilities, including beginners. Emma will guide you through the techniques and you will be able to take home your completed bird at the end of the workshop.
There will also be the opportunity to purchase a kit to go home and continue to needle felt!
Tutor: Emma from FfolkyFfelt
Fee: £55 per person
Bring a Friend Special Offer: £90 for two places, book by 21st January 2022.
NB. There is an additional £15 per person for materials, to be paid in cash on the day.

Review = “I’ve never tried any kind of felting before – a complete beginner in every sense of the word. The workshop was brilliant, so much choice of materials in incredible colours, the day was extremely well thought out, accommodating beginners like me, yet providing a setting where more experienced felters could also get the most from it. Emma managed to find that perfect balance of offering tuition, guidance and help, or letting us guide ourselves when we needed/wanted to. It was a very relaxing and creative day, fab venue and a nice group of people; allowing everyone to have some 1-1 time with Emma as well. I loved the workshop and was so proud of what I managed to achieve with my day, definitely worth it and would highly recommend Emma as a teacher and artist.” Martine Finlay
