Nabod Natur / Nature Wise is a science-based, action-focused course created and accredited by Cynnal Cymru – Sustain Wales. Nature Wise is now being developed as a face to face course at Denmark Farm Conservation Centre.
A FREE 1 day course for individuals and representatives of local organisations and groups.
Cynnal Cymru approached the Shared Earth Trust to be a delivery partner for Nature Wise, to make use of the rich site at Denmark Farm and to explore the relationships between people and natural systems.
The course is designed to build understanding and provide the tools to motivate and catalyse change towards working in harmony with the natural environment. This second offering of the course on Monday 17th October 2022 is aimed at individuals and representatives of local groups and organisations. Feedback from this course will help shape the course at Denmark Farm Conservation Centre to meet the needs of the local community and local businesses for both personal interest and/or professional development. Nature Wise will be available in the future as an open course or as a bespoke course for organisations.
Nature Wise is an eco-literacy course that will help you to become more knowledgeable and confident about helping to tackle the nature crisis both on your doorstep and further afield. Part of the course involves developing an action plan for nature based on what you will have explored during the course.
“Today was very life affirming and so well delivered. It is not possible for me to leave such a powerful course without carefully considering what else I can do to try and bring about positive changes to the planet”. Caroline, October 2022 Nature Wise course participant.
By the end of the course, you should be able to:
- Describe how ecosystems function and interact to underpin all well-being
- Understand the extent of global changes
- Identify the different levels of protection in place for the natural environment
- Identify various actions you might take as individuals and in groups to protect and enhance nature and biodiversity
- Communicate to others why eco-literacy and caring for the natural environment is essential to human survival and well-being
We would welcome you to take part in this exciting development and provide some valuable feedback afterwards.
Places are limited and are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Our course will run from 9.30am-4.30pm. Hot drinks will be available during breaks. Please bring a packed lunch.
