We look forward to welcoming New Quay Birds of Prey, for a very special afternoon event … getting to know Our Native British Owls.
Following a brief introduction to the world of owls in general we will present, in turn, three of our native British species to you along with an informative commentary.
We will cover species specific information as well as some fascinating facts on owls in general. Topics covered will include: populations, habitats, physiology, breeding, food chain, special features, conservation, history and mythology.
We will finish with some anecdotal snippets about our own experiences with our native British owls and a chance for you to hold one or two of the birds and to take photographs.
Questions are welcomed throughout, and we will do our best to answer them.
Fee: £16 per adult / £24 for one adult & one child / £48 for a family of four
The minimum age for handling the birds is five years, due to insurance restrictions. The event is open to all ages but as there will be a fair amount of sitting and listening involved children under eight years old may find it challenging.
There will be a short refreshment break in the middle of the afternoon.
