Welcoming Summer in Beautiful West Wales!

Join us for this very special Beltane Mandala Retreat with Anne Thomas.

Mandala retreat

Come, delve deep into the magic of this land; kindle new fires of creative inspiration, through soul nourishing contemplation…

The Celtic festival of Beltane marks the threshold into Summer, celebrating the fertility of the land, honouring the union of sacred feminine and sacred masculine energy towards a fruitful season. It’s the time of birdsong, may blossom, bluebells, wild woodland magic & floral wonder!

We can tap into this vibrant time of exuberant optimism, to renew  the creative fires within ourselves, shake off the last dust of winter dreaming and ready ourselves for action.

Our beltane journey together will include song, meditation, mandala painting and ceremonial labyrinth, in the setting of a beautiful nature reserve. There will be space to explore and connect with the wild and our deeper wild selves.

The Denmark Farm mandala retreat offers a range of comfortable accommodation, set within a 40 acre nature reserve. With freshly cooked vegan meals, cosy study space, outdoor fire circle, roundhouse, space to roam and connect with nature.

The sacred art practice of Mandala (Sanskrit, meaning circle or wholeness) offers a visual pathway for coming into centre, while at the same time bringing peripheral elements into a feeling of inter-connected harmony. We do this through the resonance of sacred geometry (the universal language of shapes and symbols), creative use of light, dark and colour, and engaging the limitless power of our intent.

Drawing geometry and painting mandalas invites calm reflection, prayerful attention, a place to play, process, and become a vessel for divine flow.

It’s devotional, in the sense of acknowledging the divinity within all things and how the oneness expresses through us.

The design becomes imbued with the quality of our intention and attention, resulting in a kind of visual energy map, symbolic of our inner world.

Geometry provides a framework which allows us to set our sense of ‘self’ aside as we follow new routes and ancient pathways, pausing at intersections to feel our way. Each shape is a number, each number holds specific properties, every meeting an opportunity.

During the mandala retreat we’ll consider geometry in nature, as well as looking at mandalas in different cultures, to inform our practice.

You’ll learn how to create patterns using the ancient tools of compass, straight edge and pencil. Then painting with watercolour onto paper.

Facilitator & Teacher

Anne Thomas is an artist and teacher based near Aberystwyth, West Wales.

She creates mandala paintings and ceramic sculpture, inspired by geometry in nature and expressing a deep spiritual connection with the life-force of Mother Earth. She often includes species of wildlife native to the UK in her designs, celebrating the lives of these precious beings, calling us to notice, respect and learn from them.

Her fascination with the inter-connections of Life has lead her to study and practice Reiki, yoga, Ayurveda, sacred geometry, shamanic dreaming, conscious parenting and wildlife-friendly gardening. All of this profoundly informs her art and provides a background for the workshops and courses she holds.

How do we find our centre when all around the world is changing? Where will we find shelter when the winds of life blow hardest? It is in the highest and best interests of us all to develop inner calm and self awareness, so we may live our lives with grace and in beauty; with strength of heart and clarity of mind and spirit’

Anne has a studio and a healing room at her home. She teaches sacred geometry, mandala painting, Reiki, meditation and sacred singing. She has exhibited in England and Wales.
