Want to learn how to make your own leathercraft pouch to take home?
This beginners practical workshop will show you how. Every pouch that is made is different, unique to their owner and can include engraved or stamped designs or your choice.
Your tutor, James, has been practicing traditional leathercraft for over ten years now. He’ll be leading this creative and crafty workshop where you will get to grips with leathercraft skills to make a unique leather belt pouch to take away.
Using techniques including stitching, engraving, painting and staining, you will be guided through the use of specialist leather-working tools and techniques. Learn how to use skills which can be applied to making a wide range of leather goods using only hand techniques.
Students are encouraged to develop their own individual styles and are helped to experiment and explore the creative potential of leather. You are welcome to bring your own simple pattern or design to engrave onto the pouch. However a range of stencils will be available on the day to choose from if you don’t have your own.
The leather has been veg-tanned which means it has been treated with vegetable matter such as bark or plant fibres as opposed to chemicals.
Fee: £36 (plus £5-£10 for materials, payable to the tutor on the day)
Tutor: James Kendall
