‘All About Hedgehogs’ by Naomi Davis
Naomi is an Ecologist from Aberystwyth and is involved with the North Ceredigion Local Wildlife Trust Group, the North Ceredigion Bat Group and is Aberystwyth Hedgehog Project Co-ordinator.
When did you last see a hedgehog? Hedgehogs are an easily recognizable and familiar mammal that we see in our gardens and around towns and villages. That it is if we’re lucky. Their numbers are declining sadly. We often see them dead on the road, or they get injured by strimmers and other garden machinery or poisoned by slug pellets. Naomi will be introducing this prickly creature, how and where they live, what they eat, how to encourage hedgehogs into your garden and much more.
When you visit Denmark Farm, keep a look out for our resident hedgehogs and let us know if you see one!
This is a 1 hour talk with an opportunity at the end for Questions and Answers.
Come and find out all about these fascinating creatures by registering your place on volunteer@denmarkfarm.org.uk
We will then confirm your place and a Zoom link will be sent to you the evening before the event.
The Shared Earth Trust at Denmark Farm Conservation Centre runs a 2 year project called Cadw Natur Mewn Cof/Keeping Nature in Mind which is funded by the Landfill Disposals Tax Communities Scheme. This has enabled us to run these various virtual talks on Zoom.
For all other virtual talks please see our Events Calendar.
These talks are FREE but we welcome donations to help us care for all the wildlife at Denmark Farm. You can make a donation via our LocalGiving platform. Many thanks for your support.
