Willow Weaving – Colourful Harvest Basket ~ 3 Places Left

Date(s) - 21 Feb 2020 until 22 Feb 2020
10:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Make a beautifully coloured harvest basket ideal for using in the vegetable garden. Great for flinging those runner and broad beans in from a distance.

You can choose to make this harvest basket with a round or oval base and with rope handles or finger holes. There will be a good opportunity to explore the natural willow colours.

You will learn traditional basket making skills, using a variety of prepared basketry willow plus some grown at Denmark Farm Conservation Centre on the wetland system to add colour and texture.
This harvest basket workshop is suitable for those who have some previous basketry experience and would now like to focus on adding colour and texture.  We also have a workshop running on Wednesday 19th February 2020 making a bread basket which is suitable for beginners.
All tools and materials provided. If you have your own sharp secateurs and a knife, please bring them along.  Please wear warm old clothing.

“I had forgotten pretty much everything about basket weaving and I took part in this workshop to remind myself so that I can continue at home. I now can continue! The teaching was very good, Jane was observant, informative and careful to ensure reasonably high quality results. Denmark Farm is a top venue with great facilities”. Blue Morgan

“Thank you so much for arranging the basket making course. Jane is an amazing and thoughtful teacher. She gives everyone her undivided attention and responds to what they want to do and their level. It is relaxing just to be with her and I learn so much. A big thank you! It was like a mini-holiday.” Jane Johns
