New Free Course brought to Denmark Farm by CIDS (Creative Industries Development Scheme).

Graphic design is the process of using words and images to communicate ideas and information, using a wide range of skills and knowledge across a variety of media.

The course covers design elements such layout, typography and image selection.

You will be encouraged to think about the design process, legibility and aesthetics, from concept to output of final designs.

* Prior knowledge of InDesign and/or Illustrator, as well as Photoshop is required. 

Please could you let us know when booking whether you have InDesign and/or Illustrator software on your laptop and whether you’d be able to bring this to the course? The latter is not a requirement but will help us when planning. Thank you! *

Uses: Logo design, Page layout, Typography, Stationary and Publication design.

Used in: Print/Web media, Branding and Marketing.

Day 1: Typical lesson content:

  • Create logos and logotypes
  • Create effective page layouts
  • Create colour schemes and swatches
  • Create typographical hierarchies

Day 2: Typical lesson content:

  • Select appropriate images to convey your message 
  • Implement styling to convey branding and continuity
  • Format graphic elements for different outcomes
  • Export to print, web and PDF

Course grading:
50% Portfolio of Evidence (classroom).
50% Feedback survey (online).

FREE to freelancers/SMEs living or working on convergence Wales

The Creative Industries Development Scheme (CiDS) offers fully funded (free to you) mini modules to help your business fulfil its potential.

CiDS courses are designed for you, the small business employee, sole trader or freelancer living or working in a convergence area of Wales. If you fit these criteria, you’re eligible for our free training. Each module is usually two days in length, delivered by a tutor who is practising within the industry, and is worth 10 University credits.
