Join Mammal Ecologist, Aline Denton as we’ll be checking our dormouse boxes, to find out if any of them have been used over the summer. We might even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a dormouse, or another small mammal such as a wood mouse. There will also be an opportunity to learn how to identify hazelnuts which have been opened by dormice, and to find out more about the secret life of this elusive mammal.

Help us carry out some housekeeping on our dormouse boxes and learn more about the ecology of one of Britain’s cutest mammals!

We will be offering plenty of tea and cake, but please bring your lunch.

No experience is necessary, full guidance will be given for all tasks, and all tools and materials provided. Bring appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors, according to the weather.

There’s lots of other great volunteering opportunities coming up soon.
