All about our Butterflies – CANCELLED

All about our Butterflies - CANCELLED

All about our Butterflies is a one day workshop to introduce identifying and recording our amazing native butterfly species.

The morning session will be indoors, the results of the 2022 Ceredigion Butterfly surveys will be presented and discussed. We will also cover information on how to record your sightings, the different methods to do this and the importance of those sightings.
After we have had some lunch, we will take a walk around Denmark Farm mainly looking for and identifying butterflies, but we can also look for other things as well, to improve identification skills and also record and plot using grid refs to enhance recording skills.
Depending on what time we finish doing the field work and the weather conditions, we will go back in the classroom and plot our records onto a GIS system, but this part will be time dependent.
Tutor: Paul Taylor is the Butterfly Recorder for Ceredigion and has a wealth of experience identifying wildlife and sharing his knowledge with others.

Please bring a packed lunch and wear suitable clothes and footwear for outdoor work.
