Would you like to develop your skills in bumblebee identification?
This FREE training session, organised by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, will include the identification of all UK bumblebee species and a detailed description of their ecology, lifecycle and anatomy. We will focus on some of the more difficult to identify species, including cuckoo bumblebees. Attendees should already be able to identify the common eight species.
The session will run from 10 am – 3pm. There will be a morning session indoors, then afternoon will be spent in the field.
Bring nets, pots and hand lens if you have them. We also recommend you bring lunch, water, sun screen, sturdy footwear and waterproofs.
Tutor: The session will be led by Sinead Lynch of Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
There is no charge for the training, but donations to support the conservation work of our charity The Shared Earth Trust are welcome.
Accommodation:
Self catering Eco Lodge, shared dormitories and eco-camping are all available at Denmark Farm

Hello I wondered if there is a waiting list for the intermediate bumblebee course
thanks Cathy
Hi Cathy, yes we do have a reserve list and I will put you on it. We’ll contact you asap if a place becomes available. Best wishes. Mara
thankyou – just making plans – is the reserve list very long? – thanks again Cathy Beeching
Hi Cathy, The list has five names on it but you are the first. We’ll send an e-mail to all participants in the next week or so and ask them to let us know asap if they can no longer attend. Mara
Hi. Can you put me and my friend alun on the waiting list too please? Are you likely to run this again?
Hi Cathy, I’ve put you and Alun down on the reserve list and will let you know asap if places become available. We do also have a few places remaining on our Bumblebee survey day on the 25th July https://www.denmarkfarm.org.uk/events/bumblebee-survey/ Mara 🙂
