Build a Woodland Basecamp

Have you always wanted to spend more time outdoors with family and friends, cook over the fire and get back to basics?

Learn all the skills you need to build your own woodland basecamp, (in your garden or woodland). Put up a simple shelter to protect you from the wind and rain. Prepare and cook your lunch on a fire hearth you have made using saw, axe and knife.  Learn how to lash to make camp furniture from natural and found materials. Make a pot hanger to take away for your next adventure.
This workshop is suitable for individual adults and accompanied children (age 8 or over). It is aimed at beginners and an ideal opportunity to spend some quality parent and child time, connecting with nature, during the Summer holidays.

Tutor: Sally Harvey

Sally is an experienced Forest School Leader, having qualified 8 years ago and has worked with Cardiff Steiner and Trefilan schools, Tir Coed, Longwood and now runs ‘Young Rangers’ at Denmark Farm. 

Fees: £25 adults and £20 children ages 8-15 (includes a hot lunch)
