Develop your essential skills in communication, whilst learning the art of bread making.
Improve your communication skills, develop your writing ability and read and summarise articles about bread making
Delve into discussions around the history of bread making and research how the micro business model can be used for small-scale local bakeries.
Build a portfolio of work that will help you achieve a sought after qualification (ESW literacy Level 1 or 2).
You will also have the chance for hands on practical experience in making the following;
Week 1
Bara Planc – Welsh Soda bread
Pan ordinaire – classic white loaf
Bara Brith
Week 2
Spotted Dog (quick bread)
Classic Rye bread
Classic Welsh Wholemeal
Making your own Sourdough starter.
Week 3
Learn about the family of Sour Dough Breads e.g.
Challah
Flat Breads
Norwegian Rye Bread
Week 4
Learn to make Tofu, Soy Milk and Okara.
This course is free for those who are employed or self-employed, live in the Ceredigion or Carmarthenshire areas and be in need of some of the essential skills for life and work. It is funded through the Regional Essential Skills project. It will lead to an Essential skills Wales communication certificate.
