Improver’s Basket Making workshop

Make a medium sized basket in one day using willow grown at Denmark Farm.  

If you only have a little prior basket making experience then you could make, for example, a large fruit bowl, or a waste-paper basket.  If you have made a few baskets already then you could make something a little bigger and/or with handles, such as a small log basket (or kindling basket), or a round shopping basket.  If you are moderately experienced in round work then this could be a good opportunity to try out some oval work such as an oval shopping basket.  The more prior experience you have the more adventurous you can be. 

Tutor: Craig Dawe 

Craig has been making baskets out of willow and other plants for many years. He is interested in, and practices, many traditional crafts and skills from different parts of the world. He really enjoys sharing his knowledge with those who want to learn. 

Fee: £35 (plus £5 towards materials to be paid on the day)
