New Free Course brought to Denmark Farm by CIDS (Creative Industries Development Scheme).

Illustrator is the ‘bench mark’ software package used to develop Vector graphics used throughout the creative Industry.

The course covers basic technical skills such as creating custom shapes, manipulating typography, handling layers, colouring artwork and exporting to print and web.

You will be encouraged to think about the design process, functionality and experience, through to preparing work for print and digital output.

Uses: Logo Design, Poster Design, Typographical Design and Digital Illustration.

Used in: Animation, Graphic Design, Illustration and Printmaking.

Day 1: Typical lesson content:

> Understanding the interface, tools and menus
> Create documents for print and web
> Create and edit shapes, paths, brushes and swatches
> Create and control artboards, guides and layers

Day 2: Typical lesson content:

> Import images and auto-trace
> Create clipping masks
> Use pen tool and pathfinder functions
> Export to print, web and PDF

CiDS courses are for freelancers and small business employees who live in convergence areas of Wales – if you meet this application criteria, they are completely free! Each course is worth 10 University credits, taught by an industry professional and is short so it fits around the demands of your business.
