Denmark Farm is a very special place for wildlife and supporting people to connect with nature. Like many other small charities currently, we are struggling to keep afloat and appeal for your support to save our education room.
We would much prefer to bring you only the good news; the news about all the amazing species which our little nature reserve supports and all the people who Denmark Farm has made such positive impact upon their lives. But the reality is that we need your help.
Our lovely small education room (The Oak Room) is in urgent need of some TLC, so that we can continue to host community groups and deliver environmental education. The handmade wooden windows and doors are starting to rot and require repair or replacing and our sturdy old wood burner has now been condemned as it has a small crack rendering it unsafe.
We simply cannot get through another winter without doing this work. We need to raise at least £3000 to refurbish this space. £1000 is required to purchase and install a new wood burner. A further £2000 is required to replace one window and the main doors.
Every year we host up to one hundred community groups, schools, conservation training events, craft workshops and health and well-being groups at Denmark Farm. The Oak Room provides a private, warm, safe space for learning and sharing, with the added benefit of warmth from the wood burner during cooler months. Additionally The Oak Room is an integral part of our Bunkhouse which is hired to groups to generate essential income to maintain our 40 acre nature reserve.
