‘Good to Go’ COVID-19 Information

As we start to reopen Denmark Farm to the local community, guests and volunteers, we would like to ensure everyone that we are striving to keep our nature reserve and facilities as COVID Safe as possible.

Denmark Farm has been awarded the Good to Go standard, meaning we have completed an assessment to check our facilities and activities adhere to Government and public health guidance.

It has been a quiet time during the lockdown and, although the wildlife has continued with all of its usual spring business, we have very much missed our human visitors. Now we are gradually starting to open up and welcome you all back, with open arms, whilst keeping everyone safe.

Opening the Nature Reserve to visitors

From August the Nature Reserve will be open for the local community and all of our guests to come back and reconnect with nature. Social distancing measures will be in place and hand sanitsing stations available. The Little Green Shop will reopen in August (weekdays only). We are now stocking local handmade reusable facemasks, Penderyn Hand Sanitiser and a wide range of local crafts, cards, books and wildlife publications.

Please note that our toilet facilities will be kept closed for the summer.

Welcoming guests back to the Eco Lodge, Bunkhouse and Campsite

Our self-catering Eco Lodge reopens on Friday 17th July with the Bunkhouse and Eco Campsite following on Friday 31st July. We have carried out a comprehensive COVID-19 Risk Assessment and introduced enhanced cleaning procedures. Social distancing measures will be in place and hand sanitsing stations available.

UPDATE: The Eco Lodge and Eco Campsite are now fully booked for August, there is still some availability for September and beyond. A small amount of availability remains for the Bunkhouse during August. The bunkhouse sleeps 4-7 people (one family or household only at the moment) and can be booked for stays of 4 nights or more.

Getting volunteering started again

Due to staff illness we have limited volunteering opportunites during the summer. We hope to resume our full programme of conservation volunteering in the autumn.

Workshops and Events

During the summer we have adapted our events programme to adhere to social distancing and other guidelines. Most of our events have either been rescheduled for September onwards or are taking place outdoors with much reduced numbers. We very much hope that we will be able to resume more of our events soon and await government guidelines for the next phase of restrictions to be lifted.

Accepting your Plastics for TerraCycle once more

For now we are only accepting TerraCycle Plastics during the first week of the month to help us better manage the storage and handling issues. Please read our full TerraCycle page first and call ahead to check someone will be onsite.
