We’re delighted to announce that Denmark Farm is being supported by the Co-op store in Lampeter, as part of the Co-op Local Community Fund.
The Co-op gives 1% of the amount spent by it’s members to community projects, and we are very pleased to have been selected as one of it’s local causes for the next 10 months.
You can choose which local cause will benefit from your own 1% (spent on Co-op own-brand products). If you don’t, it’s shared out between the causes of your nearest Co‑op.
All funds raised for Denmark Farm will go towards our ‘Growing Skills’ garden project. This project is aimed at local volunteers keen to learn about growing their own food while helping wildlife. The project will recruit local volunteers with a wide range of abilities, and be fully inclusive. By learning together and being active outdoors, they will develop hands-on skills, as well as improved well-being and confidence. The project will provide a connection with nature, and enable them and their friends and families to make better choices about the food they buy and eat.
So, to give our volunteers a boost, we need all our local supporters to add their 1% to the Denmark Farm fund at Lampeter Co-op. If you are already a Co-op member please log into your Co-op member account and select ‘Denmark Farm‘, or call 0800 023 4708 and ask for your 1% share to go to Denmark Farm Conservation Centre.
If you are not yet a Co-op member please do consider joining (it won’t cost you anything and Co-op also give 5% back to members) and support Denmark Farm to recruit volunteers to care for nature.
We will be posting more details of the Growing Skills Volunteer project early in the new year. If you’d like to be the first to hear about this please sign up to our e-newsletter.
