If January’s relentless rain has left you feeling that there is nothing to look forward to then its time to plan your camping holiday for this summer.
If camping in Wales is not your idea of a great holiday then think again. It seems that camping is a tonic for glumness and a growing number of people agree that the thought of going on a camping trip cheers them up! And with more holiday makers wanting to explore the UK west Wales can provide the perfect ‘staycation’.
There is so much inspiration to gain and perks to enhance the camping experience. Perks can be as small as enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sunset, spotting a red kite flying over when out walking, catching a glimpse of a hare in the early morning dew or popping down to the producers market to sample some local produce; either way, camping has something for everyone.
Denmark Farm Eco Campsite is set in our wonderful, wildlife-rich 40-acre nature reserve. The camp site is situated on a gently sloping meadow next to woodland and, with almost no light pollution, the stars are amazing. Campers have the unique opportunity to share this peaceful place with red kites circling overhead, hares hiding in the undergrowth, dragonflies darting over ponds, hedgerows and woods full of birdsong, and flower-filled meadows.
The campsite is open from April to October for tents only and provides a small, open fronted rustic timber kitchen, complete with double gas burner, for food preparation and washing up. Come on your own, with your family or request exclusive use of the whole site for a special event or celebration. We also have a simple yurt which can be hired as a group space or even for a rustic overnight ‘glamping’ experience.
We are now taking bookings for 2014 so why not give yourself something to look forward to and get planning.
