Malcolm Magee

After a long career in the London financial world, Malcolm rekindled his love for nature and the countryside, moved to West Wales and came to Denmark Farm as a volunteer in 1997. He ended up working here and has been the Coordinator for many years. He has mainly been involved in strategic development, fundraising and administration but occasionally deserts the desk to help with the upkeep of Denmark Farm’s Centre and 40 acre nature reserve. Malcolm and his wife Joanna, live near Aberystwyth with their pets, wildlife ponds and deliberately unkempt gardens in what aspires to be a mini-version of Denmark Farm!

Angie Polkey

Angie became a volunteer in 1998, joining our small staff team in 1999. She has a background in ecology and conservation, supplemented by environmental education, marketing and management for a range of conservation bodies. Angie has covered most roles in her time at Denmark Farm, with particular emphasis on conservation training and advice, education and strategic development. She headed up our Ceredigion Biodiversity Enhancement Scheme and has led our community engagement programmes for a number of years. Angie lives in Ceredigion with her husband, chickens and pets on a small productive permaculture holding.

Mara Morris

Mara has been working at Denmark Farm since early 2007 when she joined us for our ‘Natural Links’ Programme. Since this she has supported our ‘Wildlife Where You Live’ project in addition to a key role developing the eco-campsite, venue, events, craft courses and general marketing. Before coming to Denmark Farm, Mara worked in international development NGOs, such as VSO and UNA Exchange, carrying out fundraising and marketing roles. Mara has been living in Wales for 25 years since moving to Cardiff to complete an Arts Degree. She now lives just down the road with her small family, 5 chickens and productive vegetable garden.

Dolly Schwenk

Dolly moved from Cardiff to Ceredigion in 2006 to complete a degree in countryside management at Aberystwyth University.  She has recently joined the team as Finance Officer, combining this with freelance work in hands-on ecology and in project management.  Prior to this Dolly worked for many years in both the statutory and voluntary sectors – in community projects, in arts and education, in company and project management, and in finance. Dolly lives with her husband and pets on the edge of upland Ceredigion, a unique landscape where she can pursue all of her interests.
